Can you be a Christian and support the Islamic Refugee Ban?

It has been a while since I posted, but I feel like I need to get this off my chest.
YOU CAN BE A CHRISTIAN AND STILL SUPPORT THE BAN ON INCOMING REFUGEES
There I said it. Probably triggered a bunch of leftist idealists; who cares.
With Trump taking office, his first few executive actions as POTUS have been phenomenal. One of his most recent executive orders is solidifying a previously proposed temporary (key word) ban on incoming Islamic refugees coming from hot zones like Syria. Buzzfeed, Vox, CNN, and other garbage sources will showcase war distraught children, families being torn apart, and other tear jerking images while at the same time portraying Trump as the devil. The truth of the matter is, yes these events are occurring, but they have always occurred through out history. Does that make it right? By no means at all! Does that make Trump equivalent to Hitler? Nope.
The issue at hand is, do we let these refugees into the U.S.? In a perfect fairy tale world, we should, but regardless of what many liberals believe, we do not live in a fairytale utopia. We live in a world where people take advantage of each other. In this case we have radical islamist taking advantage of the refugee situation; acting as a trojan horse. Just look at the European nations that have decided to take in huge amounts of refugees. Terrorist acts and crimes have risen at astonishing rates in those areas. That is no coincidence! Does a decision to not welcome refugees into the U.S. until we can properly analyze the situation, make us less christian than those who believe we should welcome them all in with open arms? No it does not.
In fact, the bible supports the idea. It is called wise discernment. As Christians we are to act with discretion on matters such as this.
"Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you." (Proverbs 2:11)
One of the most quoted books in the Bible is the book of Proverbs. A book where an overwhelming majority of its content is about wisdom and thinking before acting. A sad reality of many modern leftist christians (oxymoron) is that they pick and choose what to believe. They are quick to see verses about helping the needy, but forget that the God of Christianity is the same God who ordered strict guidelines for the children of Israel, Guidelines that dictated who and what can enter the God given territory. God made these rules, not because he hated the outsiders, but because he knew the troubles that would accompany them. King Solomon is a great example of letting in foreigners unwisely and having negative repercussions. One of the wisest men in the bible, let in foreign nations because of the pleads of his many wives. Because of this, those foreign nations polluted the land and culture with horrendous acts such as child sacrifice. Was that his intent? No, but it still happened.
As Christians we are to be loving and open, but we are also to be wise. God's word is very adamant about giving with discretion.
This being said, we are also called to outreach. As christians we can support a temporary islamic ban, but we cannot be against those who wish to help refugees in their homeland. I am 100% for establishing safe zones in places like Syria, where refugees can reside under the protection of the United States. That is where liberal hypocrisy takes in affect. During the Vietnam war it was the hippies (birth of the modern liberal mindset) that opposed sending U.S. troops to intervene the war that was tearing apart that country. It was the liberals who protested against the protection of small villages of impoverished families. And it was the conservative christians that led a refugee program that got my Dad safely to the U.S. So no, I am not against refugees coming into the U.S. I am all for it. The only difference between then and now is that Vietnam was not inflitrated with hundreds of ISIS operatives and radical islamists with alternative motives.
My point: Take in refugees under wise consideration. This is exactly what Trump is doing. This is a temporary ban that will be lifted once we can properly analyze the situation of incoming refugees. A lot of people don't realize that.
The refugee situation sucks, it really does no matter what way you look at it. It is important that as Christians and Americans, that we try to avoid future turmoil. The people who truly are changing the world, are not those who open their doors to let strangers in, but those who leave the doors of their comfort zone to go help and outreach to those strangers. Welcoming refugees is only a temporary fix with permanent risks. The permanent fix with temporary risks is to fix the problem where it started. That is a Christian mindset. Sometimes the purest intentions are the ones that seem the cruelest at first.
"But the wisdom that comes from heaven is FIRST OF ALL PURE; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere" (James 3:17)
